Basecamp

If you love spending time outside, then Hot Springs Village Basecamp is your launching point to outdoor adventure. We’re a group of Hot Spring Village outdoor enthusiasts who want to play and explore, providing exciting outdoor opportunities through casual get-togethers with good food, friends and music.

Surrounded by the Ouachita National Forest, the Ouachita Mountains and numerous lakes, rivers and streams, we have easy access to some of the best mountain trails, wilderness areas & waterways in the state and in Hot Springs Village proper.

Moreover, the experts at Basecamp will also help you choose a wilderness trail, connect you with recreation-specific clubs and venues, keep you posted on area events and recommend outfitters to get you geared up.

Rod & Gun Club

Arkansas is indeed “The Natural State” with 9,700 miles of fishable streams and rivers, 600,000 acres of lakes and over 2.9 million acres of forestland. Hot Springs Village, situated near the heart of the state, has easy access to it all. The Ouachita Rod & Gun Club is focused on bringing folks together to celebrate our outdoor sporting traditions. We believe in good fun, food and fellowship in the natural beauty Arkansas offers.

It doesn’t matter if you are an experienced outdoormans or just want to meet some new friends. We welcome you to find your place in the Ouachita Rod & Gun Club. We plan to take advantage of the diverse hunting and fishing opportunities the region has to offer. Watch for information on our next big adventure, or plan one of your own.

Mountain Biking

Push your peddles on one of the several mountain biking trails in our region for exhilarating exercise, unspoiled natural scenery and a time outdoors you’ll be sure to want to experience over again.

We recommend you check out the Womble Trail, an International Mountain Biking Association EPIC Trail deeming it as one of the top mountain bike riding trails in the region. Hot Springs Village has 30 miles of walking/hiking trails for the less technical mountain biker.

Road Biking

The Hot Springs Village area provides plenty of secluded scenic roads, making road cycling one of the best ways to get outdoors and see the beauty of Arkansas. Explore your own routes across Arkansas on rural roads that take you from one historic town to the next.

Basecamp also partners with the Ageless Bikers Club for regularly scheduled weekly rides and cycling events. The ride schedule is listed on the Basecamp calendar and the Ageless Bikers Club website.

Swimming

A love for all things water goes hand in hand with Hot Springs Village. We’ve got plenty of ways to enjoy it for water lovers of all ages and abilities. Check out one of our 12 lakes all offering up perfect swimming opportunities. In addition to our lakes and swim beaches, our indoor pool offers the chance to perfect your backstroke all year round.

Dog Park

The DeSoto Dog Park is a gated, off-leash park for well behaved and healthy dogs. The site is approximately 1.5 acres of level open area, divided into two sections for use by large and small dogs. The park contains benches, watering stations, waste receptacles and shade pavilions.

Parks & Picnics

All Hot Springs Village picnic areas are open to the public and have picnic tables, grills and restroom facilities. Picnic areas can be found at Balboa Beach, Cortez Beach, DeSoto Beach, DeSoto Family Recreation Area, Coronado Boat Ramp, Balboa Pavilion, and Cortez Pavilion located at Cortez Boat Ramp.
